During the second heat, the left rear hub would break, causing the tire to fly off. His night would’ve been over prematurely at Peterborough Speedway, however Dave Lewis lent Emms the No. 18 car to start and park in the feature to earn points.
It certainly marked a disappointment for the rookie after posting three top-10s, including a fifth place finish, in the first five races thus far this season. He had entered Peterborough sitting seventh in points.
Emms will hope to turn things around in a couple weeks when the Hoosier OSCAAR Modifieds return to Sunset Speedway for the fourth time this season on August 22.
