The ADAMS Motorsports driver showed speed during qualifying, placing sixth in his first heat, followed by a third in the second qualifier.
Starting the feature from the ninth position, he began to move his way forward in the early stages, though would end up turned around in turn two on Lap 5.
Restarting at the tail of the field, he barely escaped the wreck off turn four on the restart to gain some ground. On the second attempt to restart the event, he continued to move forward, escaping the incidents that followed without damage to cross the finish line in ninth.
With his first finish outside of the top-five this season, Gignac drops to third in the OSCAAR standings, 14 points behind Cory Horner.
ADAMS Motorsports and Gignac will be back in action this weekend at Flamboro Speedway on July 29.
